EU COMMIT Project - Tools to develop the Social Dimension of Universities (Project presentation)

The universities' strategies to strengthen their research, teaching and service to society are going to embed and promote a profound social commitement as a new dimension. For this purpose, COMMIT project proposes tools as support of the adapting process, as reflexive documents of a new Lifelong Learning and Social culture within universities. These tools are dedicated to design of a Lifelong Learning and social oriented strategy adapted to the specific needs of each universiy. Apart from upgrading skills for employment or of a narrow stream of knowledge as Lifelong Learning is perceived at present, it is important to develop within universities' people the feeling that they belong to their society and that their society belongs to them as well. Tools of COMMIT intend to identify obstacles and facilitators in the pathway of each university to become a Lifelong Learning University (LLLU), in tis own reality and context.
